NHRA Racer Gives Back to Auto Service Technology Students

Area 31 Career Center was proud to welcome NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Racer and team owner Steve Johnson to campus for an inspiring day with our Automotive Service students. Steve delivered an engaging presentation on “Marketing Your Brand After the Diploma,” challenging students to define their personal brand, pursue their passions, and build meaningful careers doing what they love.

As part of his visit, Steve awarded two BAT-man (Be A Technician) Scholarships to outstanding students: Spencer Carr (Plainfield High School) and Jarvis Ludwig (Cascade High School). Each recipient received a Snap-on tool package and toolbox valued at over $3,000, along with a $1,500 Peak Performance Bonus to select tools tailored to their specialty.

We extend our sincere thanks to Steve Johnson and his partners—Snap-on, Peak, NGK, Market Scan, the ASE Education Foundation, and I-CAR—for their generous support and dedication to developing the next generation of skilled technicians. Thank you, Steve, for fueling our students’ drive for excellence and helping them shift their futures into high gear!
