Course Title: Tractor/Trailer Operation
Course Instructor: Kyle Walker
Number of Credits: 3 each Semester
Semesters Offered: 2-Semester Program
Prerequisites: Algebra I and English 10
Eligible Grade Levels: 12th
Dual Credits: Vincennes University – 18 credits
NOTE: Students must provide their own transportation to Vincennes University – CDL (ESEC Training Center), 700 N. High School Road, Suite 205, Indianapolis, IN 46214
Course Competencies and Requirements
- Student must be 18 years of age by March 1
- Student must have a valid Indiana Operator’s License for at least 1 year
- Provided by Vincennes University
- Must pass a DOT physical exam and drug screen; to be administered prior to hands-on training
- Participation includes classroom instruction and road driving experience
Approximate expenses for student include:
- $17 CDL Learners Permit (CLP) payable to the IN BMV
- $36 Commercial Driver’s License, payable to the IN BMV
- $4 Motor Vehicle Record
- $175 for additional test attempts, if needed
Upon passing the IN State BMV exam, students will be qualified to operate Class A Commercial vehicles on Indiana roads.

Dual credit offerings are subject to change at the discretion of postsecondary partners, the Indiana Commission for Higher Education, The Indiana Department of Education, or the Indiana Office of Career and Technical Education.
Vincennes University credits may be earned in the following courses upon successful completion of the program with a grade of 80% or higher.
