Course Competencies and Requirements

  • Students work toward a Vincennes Associate Degree
  • Learn the basics of cyber security through labs and activities
  • Perform some of the routine tasks of a cyber-crime and computer forensics investigator
  • Learn how to ethically hack computer systems
  • Perform activities and labs that enable you to become a Windows 10 technician
  • Learn how to build a virtual environment and keep them safe
  • Engage in activities that can help you become a pro in data security
  • Through labs and hands on learning how to build your own CISCO Network
  • Opportunity to earn CISCO certification
  • Opportunity to earn CompTIA A+ certification

Academic Standards for Success

  • Understand the organization of a reading passage, and identify the main and supporting ideas.
  • Read and comprehend science and technical texts within a range of complexity appropriate for grades 11-CCR independently and proficiently.
  • Solve abstract and practical problems by applying and adapting a variety of strategies. Monitor progress and evaluate answers in terms of questions asked.

NOTE: Required prerequisites include the successful completion of Algebra I and English 10 for academic credit.

NOTICE: Students in this program may be assigned to a Brownsburg or Wayne Township location based on considerations such as program enrollment numbers and the student’s home high school. The Area 31 Enrollment Committee makes enrollment decisions, and placement decisions are made by Area 31 Career Center administration.

Priority enrollment is given to students who have successfully completed prior coursework in this associate degree-granting Area 31 Early College Career Center program.
